“THOUGH IT TARRIES, WAIT FOR IT…”

There are times in our lives we are hemmed in spiritually and physically on all sides of life.  We feeling as if we are unable to escape! Trapped, hardness all around us, we are held captive and enslaved by the battering nature of sin! We pray, meditate, engage God deeply and desperately, still relief is absent from the present day. Habakkuk, the prophet, had this very experience when the Chaldeans, a bitter and hasty nation, swept over Jerusalem, bringing captivity and enslavement. I confess to all as I view and work within our Jerusalem, I see the Chaldean spirit enslaving the beloved people of our community. People are frustrated, pained, and filled with bitterness born out of relentless afflictions. But wait, this is not the final perspective of our community, there is a vision of God for our community.

In Habakkuk, the LORD calls us to write of the vision, to in script it plainly for all to read. The LORD tells Habakkuk, and us the vision is for an appointed time, the vision will break forth in a great voice, and it will not be a lie! So we are instructed to wait for the vision for surely it will come. It will not tarry one second beyond the appointed time! As Habakkuk waited for the Messiah and the deliverance of the people, we too wait for the Holy Spirit’s outpouring of salvation and deliverance. Let us not lose faith, rather let us move boldly in faith, praying, and through our testimony declare the coming of the vision: salvation and deliverance!

Habakkuk 2:2-4 Then the LORD answered me and said, "Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it. 3 For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. 4 Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith.” NKJV

This Thursday we meet to exercise our faith in prayer. You are invited to join us in prayer for the inevitable outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Our precious Holy Spirit will come with salvation and deliverance; Oh, that we maybe in humble pray when His outpouring begins to flow forth! We meet at the Church of the Nazarene, at 8:00 am. Join us as we pray with great anticipation for the manifestation of the Vision, the Light of the World!
