“…WHO REDEEMS YOUR LIFE FROM DESTRUCTION…”

Our ability to forgive others is not an instantaneous ability given to Christians. Quite the contrary, our ability to forgive others grows in direct proportion to our understanding of God’s forgiveness for our failings. Forgiving others is one of the greatest challenges each Christian must learn, and we can only learn the peace of forgiveness through experience. First, and most important lesson, is to accept God’s forgiveness towards us, personally! God forgives us; however, we do not forgive ourselves. No matter our past failings, only God can weave a beautiful tapestry from the broken strands of thread and yarn of our lives. As God begins to weave the story of our lives as God has planned for each of us, it is not necessarily a clear vision. However, in time we are able to see with greater clarity the efforts of God’s labor in our lives. It is in those moments, our heart leaps forth in desire for others to experience the mercy of God. Our prayers of desperation for ourselves turn into prayers of intercession, pleading for God to express mercy to others as God has demonstrated holy love towards us.

I encourage you to first to learn to rest in God’s mercies. Do not worry about your tomorrows or your yesterdays, both are in the hands of our most merciful God. As the Holy Spirit draws us unto God, so will the Holy Spirit heal our past days and forge our tomorrows. I say this with the greatest of compassion and prophetic confidence, God will restore all that has been taken from you! God knows and understands the depth and source of your sorrows, frustrations, and the sadness in your soul. Continue to come to God through prayer, confessing your heart and soul, bearing your grief and pain to the Cross of Jesus Christ. Only there can we begin to experience the peace of forgiveness. Do not be quick to leave this place, rest your soul and body at the foot of the Cross of Jesus Christ. Let the Holy Spirit flow, saturating you with healing for your soul and body. Dear Soul, rest in the bosom of the Holy Spirit.

Ps 103:1-5
Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
3 Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
4 Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle's.

  1. Even though God has his plan for your life and you start to see it unfold, they're things that you still need God's work to be done in you so the route that you have prayed about may be rerouted for God's TRUE plan can be revealed. For instance, we have prayed for a new carreer and new location and during this time I have been grounded in the word daily. The Lord brought me to Maui, Hawaii and everything fell right into place. But I didn't realize that I had also put faith in a ungodly man to take over the business. While I was in Maui preparing this new life, my wife had to endure all the stress that the life we were trying to erase wasn't working out. I know that the enemy will do all he can to destroy us but also God new that my wife needed me more than ever. So, God had rerouted His plan for me to take care of my family and all that is needed to be done. I have no doubt that God wants us here in Hawaii but things need to be finalized in the life that I started and have not yet completed.

  2. The unique thing about Christianity as compared to all of the religions of the world is that ours is the only one wherein we do nothing to initiate our salvation. God has called us to be saved and he alone does the work of it. Every part of our sanctification comes from Him. So it is with forgiveness. Whether we must forgive ourselves or another-it all comes from God! I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me. (Phil. 4:13 paraphrased) He does not require anything from us that he has not already give us power to accomplish in Christ.
