I so enjoy posting devotions, insights that others share from their hearts. I have only known Lindsey Dunham for a short while. I have been really impressed by the power of what she pens for her Facebook page. I have asked and received permission from Lindsey to post her insight from today's Facebook. I invite you to take your time reading her thoughts, Lindsey speaks of God's love with such intimacy. I look forward to sharing other posts that she pens in the future...Thank you Lindsey for revealing your heart, and welcome to Transformation Forum.
While on Facebook yesterday I read a statement "It's better to walk alone than with a crowd going in the wrong direction." I liked it because I feel it to be true, but then a voice immediately said, you never walk alone. How quickly Jesus reminded me that He is always walking with us. We tend to forget that He is there, an everlasting presence. This escapes our minds easily, especially when things in our life are not perfect. Hardships that fall upon us such as medical issues, depression, broken heart, financial troubles, loneliness, etc. causes us to lose faith that He is there and our hope slowly fades causing us to sometimes make poor choices. However, we can also be quick to acknowledge and thank Him when things are going good. I guess it is our human nature to think that Jesus is only around when things are moving in a positive direction and it is more difficult to feel it when we are struggling. He has a reason for everything, good and bad, but that does not mean He has left our side for even one second.

I pray we all will have the strength, knowledge, and
desire to remember and seek who is walking beside us, holding our hand, and
sometimes even carrying us during every single circumstance in our life. I pray
that the power of faith, to trust and believe, in His presence, will be ignite
in our hearts today and each day forward.
And, actually there are many who do not know or can even
understand what it means that Jesus is by our side. When I meet or think about
these people, my heart craves to shout out how amazing life can be knowing and
accepting Jesus so I pray for them even harder. I feel so blessed that I was
lucky enough to be raised in a family that instilled His word and His love into
my life and yes I still sometimes forget that He is there, but one of the great
things in knowing Jesus is that He will always have a way to remind us. A well-known
poem comes to heart that I would like to share because it fits so perfectly to
this message:
"One night I dreamed
I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed
across the sky. In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there
were two sets of footprints, other times there were on set of footprints. This
bothered me because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I
was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could only see one set of
footprints. So I said to the Lord, "You promised me Lord, that if I
followed you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the
most trying periods of my life there have only been one set of footprints in
the sand. Why, when I needed you the most, you have not been there for
me?" The Lord replied, "The times when you have only seen one set of
footprints, is when I carried you."
"And surely I am with you always, to the very end of
age." Matthew 28:20
